The Minister of State, Aden Governorate, Ahmed Lamlas, today, along with him and the Director of Khor Maksar District, Awas Al-Zuhri, opened the performance arena in Khor Maksar District, after its rehabilitation with funding from the World Bank and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Governor Lamlas stressed that the project represents an important step towards improving infrastructure and enhancing public facilities in the temporary capital, Aden. He pointed out the importance of continuing these development projects with the support of the international community, which aim to reconstruct the temporary capital, Aden, and enhance its stability.
p>For its part, the Khor Maksar Directorate expressed its thanks and appreciation for the support of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in implementing the project... pointing out that this square represents a major destination for the city’s residents, and that its rehabilitation reflects the commitment of the local authorities to improving the quality of life of citizens in Aden. And revitalizing public areas that have been neglected.
The project included rehabilitating the platform and its surrounding spaces, improving the walkway, introducing modern lighting and landscaping systems, and providing safe spaces to serve as a public outlet for families and youth in Khor Maksar and the interim capital, Aden in general.
