Rasd Foundation for Rights, Freedoms and Sustainable Development (R.F.S.D) documented the killing and injury of 108 civilians in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, as a result of incidents of mines and explosive objects left by the terrorist Houthi militia during the year 2024.
A report by the Foundation stated that the victims were divided into 39 cases of killing (21 men, 14 children, and 4 women) and 69 cases of injury (38 men, 24 children, and 7 women).
The report also indicated that mine and explosive accidents caused permanent or partial disabilities for 16 men, 11 children, and two women during the same period.
According to the organization, these numbers are 16 cases higher than the statistics documented by the United Nations Mission in Support of the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), which indicate the killing and injury of 92 civilians during the past year.
Hodeidah is one of the Yemeni governorates most contaminated with mines and explosives left behind by the terrorist Houthi militia, which deliberately planted large quantities of them on a large scale in the governorate, especially in populated areas.
