The southern armed forces in Abyan Governorate were able to arrest the most dangerous members of Al-Qaeda in the governorate.

According to military sources, the southern forces were able to arrest the leader of Al-Qaeda, “Aqeel Amtli,” at his home in the village of Al-Humaira in the Lawdar District, after a careful monitoring and investigation process.

The sources said that a security force affiliated with the central region, led by Brigadier General Wael Jaari, arrested “Amtali” yesterday evening.

According to the sources, the terrorist “Aqeel Amtalli” confessed to a number of crimes, including targeting the family of the former Deputy Minister of Interior in 2017, in which a number of his family members were killed, including his son.

The sources said that the terrorist “Aqeel Amtali” participated in dangerous operations, including targeting southern forces.
