The early warning in Hadramaut warns of a severe cold wave starting Tuesday and continuing until the end of the week

The Early Warning Center in Hadhramaut Governorate warned, in a statement issued today, Sunday, January 12, 2025, of a severe cold wave expected to affect the governorate starting from dawn next Tuesday until the end of this week. The center indicated that this cold wave will be the result of a cold air mass coming from the north of the Arabian Peninsula.
According to the latest numerical forecasts, the interior regions of Hadhramaut, including deserts, valleys, and plateaus, will witness a sharp drop in temperatures, as the minimum temperature is expected to reach less than 3 degrees Celsius in the mountain highlands, plateau heads, and valleys. While temperatures in the districts located in Wadi Hadhramaut will range between 3 to 6 degrees Celsius. As for the coastal areas, they will witness moderate to relatively cool weather, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 21 degrees Celsius.
The center alerted all citizens to the need to take the necessary preventive measures to confront the extreme cold, stressing the importance of using safe heating methods, and taking care of the elderly and children who are considered the most vulnerable to the effects of the extreme cold. The center also advised taking appropriate health guidelines to prevent diseases associated with low temperatures.
The center called on residents to follow the weather bulletins issued by the center continuously, and to follow the necessary instructions and guidelines to ensure their safety during this period.
