Today, the General Assembly of the National Association of the Wounded and Disabled held its extraordinary meeting in the city of Ma’rib, under the patronage of a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Governor of Ma’rib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, and under the supervision of the Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, under the slogan “Sacrifice is our path to victory.”

The meeting was based on the Associations and Civil Foundations Law No. (1) of 2001 and its executive regulations, calling for elections to form a new administrative body

In his speech, the head of the supervisory committee assigned by the Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Abdul Malik Abbad, stressed the importance of choosing a new administrative body capable of assuming responsibility, stressing the need to carry out its work transparently and efficiently to achieve the association’s goals.

During the meeting chaired by former Secretary-General Bashir Al-Khattabi, the General Assembly reviewed the previous performance report, and the comments submitted by members were discussed, before approving it after making the necessary amendments. The Assembly also discussed the regulatory documents and proposed amendments to the statute, and approved them unanimously.

After the meeting, the head of the new administrative body, Ahmed Saif Al-Rimal, affirmed the association’s commitment to continue working to follow up on the demands of the wounded and disabled with government agencies, to improve their living and health conditions, provide housing, treatment and salaries, and seek to establish a special fund to support the disabled.

Al-Rimal indicated that the Authority will work to implement the meeting’s recommendations, calling on all concerned parties to cooperate to achieve the association’s goals in a way that serves the wounded and disabled affected by war and enhances their role in society.
