The final meeting of the Preparatory Committee to announce the Civil Alliance for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, headed by Fadi Baoum, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, today, Thursday, witnessed the presence of representatives of organizations and personalities concerned with combating corruption.
During the meeting, Baoum was briefed on the progress of preparations for announcing the Civil Alliance, its goals and general vision, in addition to work trends and organizational construction.
He stressed that the step to announce the civil alliance comes as an embodiment of the national and political will of President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and his support for national efforts aimed at combating corruption.
He said that the Civil Alliance represents a national priority in the south to reduce and eliminate the spread of corruption, as it is a heavy legacy since the occupation of the south in 1994.
He warned of the danger of corruption to the country and its wealth, and its service to terrorism and the enemies of the South, stressing the speedy adoption of decisive measures by creating a national vision that establishes an anti-corruption environment.
In conclusion, the meeting decided to approve the vision and documents of the Civil Alliance for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, and agreed to continue documenting institutional work and building on previous accumulated efforts to combat the phenomenon of corruption.
