A huge fire broke out in the gas station located in the Al-Jabal area in Wadi Al-Qadi, Taiz Governorate, today, and civil defense teams were able to quickly control it, which prevented a human catastrophe or widespread damage.
According to local sources, the fire broke out as a result of a gas leak from one of the buses parked at the station due to a leak in the system, which led to the fire igniting and spreading to one of the filling pumps. Had it not been for the presence of a protection and safety system in the station, such as a system of valves to open and close gas, the situation would have been more disastrous.
The sources explained that the civil defense teams, in cooperation with the water tank owners, played a vital role in extinguishing the fire and limiting its spread, which contributed to preventing further damage.
Local authorities confirmed that no human casualties were recorded as a result of the accident, while citizens warned against repeating similar accidents that caused buses and other cars to burn in different areas of the city, as a result of the randomness in converting the fuel system from gasoline to gas and failure to adhere to technical standards and specifications. required by this conversion.
The Wadi Al-Qadhi fire is considered the third gas station burning incident within a week in Yemen after the Al-Bayda and Dhamar incidents.
