In a step that confirms the depth of British-Yemeni relations, the British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, arrived in New York to participate in a series of meetings and events aimed at mobilizing international support for the Yemeni government’s ambitious vision of building a more prosperous and peaceful future for the Yemeni people.

Ambassador Sharif stated that her visit to New York comes within the framework of the United Kingdom’s tireless efforts to support the efforts of the Yemeni government in achieving the aspirations of the Yemeni people.

She added that this visit represents an important opportunity to discuss how the international community can provide the best support to Yemen, especially in light of the challenges facing the country.

Sherif stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to provide political, economic and humanitarian support to Yemen, noting that stability in Yemen represents a common interest for the region and the entire world.
