Aden Water Corporation calls on the government to intervene urgently and warns against stopping service due to the near exhaustion of fuel

The local water and sanitation corporation in Aden Governorate called on the government and all concerned parties to intervene urgently to provide sufficient quantities of fuel to ensure the continuity of water and sanitation service.
The corporation warned, in a statement issued by it, that water and sewage service supplies would be halted within the next 48 hours, due to the near exhaustion of the fuel needed to operate water wells and sewage pumps.
The corporation explained that it is facing a severe crisis in providing fuel for the electric power generators that operate the water well fields and sewage pumps, which cover periods of power outages in those sites.
The Aden Water Corporation also confirmed that some electrical power generators are unable to continue operating due to their urgent need for urgent maintenance.
