A smuggling boat was seized in Lahj carrying about 180 African migrants

Naval forces seized a smuggling boat carrying 180 illegal immigrants on the coast of Al-Mudaraba and Ras Al-Ara District in Lahj Governorate.
The Navy explained in a statement that the boat was trying to enter Yemen through the coast of Khor Al Amira, and was seized near the coast of the Khor Al Amira area.
After the boat was chased and stopped, it was discovered that it had 179 African migrants of different nationalities on board.
The migrants were transferred to centers designated to provide initial humanitarian aid, and the necessary legal measures will be taken against them.
This operation comes within the efforts of local authorities to combat the phenomenon of smuggling illegal immigrants and protect the country’s borders.
