Trump reclassifies the Houthis as a “terrorist organization”

US President Donald Trump announced today the reclassification of the Houthi group in Yemen as a foreign terrorist organization.
The White House confirmed that the new American policy will work to strengthen cooperation with regional partners to deprive the Houthis of the resources they use to launch their attacks, stressing that Washington is committed to supporting security and stability in the region.
This decision comes in the wake of intense diplomatic movements led by President Commander Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, who sent clear messages to the international community of the need to take a more firm stance against the Houthis, stressing that the strikes Air force alone is not sufficient to confront their escalating threats.
