The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in partnership with the Human Development Program, launched today in the capital, Aden, the “Life-saving food aid for the most needy families in Yemen for the year 2023” project in 5 Yemeni governorates.

The project aims to distribute 119,394 food baskets divided into 6 cycles to 170,478 individuals from the most needy families in the governorates of “Aden, Abyan, Lahj, Al Dhalea, and Taiz.”

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Saleh Mahmoud, stressed the great role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in providing support and aid to the Yemeni people... pointing to the importance of the project in alleviating the suffering of the targeted families in light of the difficult circumstances that the country is going through... calling on international and local organizations And entities supporting the implementation of sustainable development programs that contribute to the early recovery phase.

For their part, the coordinator of the Relief Committee in Yemen, Jamal Belfaqih, and the Undersecretary of Aden Governorate, Abdul Hakim Al-Shabi, praised the support of the King Salman Center and the Human Development Program by providing aid and support in various relief, humanitarian and development fields.

In turn, Assistant Project Director Suhaib Joban confirmed that the project comes as a quick result of the fruits of the partnership and meets the urgent and life-saving food needs of a wide segment of the most affected and vulnerable Yemeni families through more than 170,000 individuals obtaining food security in 5 Yemeni governorates for those who are suffering. From food insecurity.

Joban appreciated the role of the King Salman Humanitarian Centre, the cooperation of the relevant ministries and local authorities, and their guidance of all obstacles to facilitate the implementation of this project.
