The Governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, held an expanded meeting for the second day in a row, to discuss the status of gas filling stations in the city and the directorates, in the presence of the committee charged with the Yemeni Gas Company - Safer. This meeting came to continue to discuss the evaluation report of licensed and violating stations, and the extent of its commitment to security and safety standards.
During the meeting, the committee submitted a detailed report indicating the large number of unlicensed stations, which operate without adhering to safety procedures, which poses a direct danger to citizens. The committee also reviewed the incidents of burning some vehicles, which occurred as a result of the absence of safety standards, warning that the continuation of this chaos may lead to larger disasters in a populated city such as Taiz. The report was not limited to packing stations only, but also touched on the workshops of converting vehicles from gasoline to gas, which operate in random methods without taking into account the potential risks.
This meeting was not the first of its kind. The Governor Nabil Shamsan, during a meeting yesterday, had previously directed the necessity of the field descent to implement the recommendations of the committee and take strict measures against the violators. He stressed the need to close the unlicensed stations immediately, and to control those responsible for endangering people's lives, in coordination with the security authorities. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Governorate Security Police, Colonel Anis Al -Shamiri, and the director of the branch of the Yemeni Gas Company in Taiz, Eng. Bilal Al -Qamiri, in addition to the Director of the Civil Defense Department and a number of directorates of directorates and works offices.
These moves come in light of the increasing fears of the risks resulting from the insecurity of gas in vehicles, amid popular demands to end the randomness that threatens the lives of citizens in Taiz.
