The local authority in the Khormakser district, this morning, called on the families of the detainees to attend the headquarters of the Capital Security Department, Aden, to receive their children, who were detained during protest demonstrations on the deteriorating economic conditions.  

The local authority explained, through its Facebook page, that its invitation came in coordination with the director of the capital’s security, Major General Mazhar Al -Shuaibi, stressing the need for the arrested people to attend the security department to complete the procedures for receiving them.  

One of the security points arrested a number of young people who went out in angry demonstrations this morning due to the deterioration of the living conditions in Aden. The security services also carried out similar detention campaigns in several directorates, accusing the demonstrators of receiving external support aimed at destabilizing.  

On the other hand, these arrests were met with a wave of criticism and ridicule on social media, as some considered it an attempt to suppress the voices calling for improving services and paying salaries, in light of the continuous collapse of the local currency and the exacerbation of the electricity crisis and basic services.
