The Ministry of Social Affairs and UNICEF expected the two plan to protect children and social policies

His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Saeed Al -Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, met this morning in his office in the capital, Aden, at the representative of UNICEF in Yemen, Mr. Peter Hawkins, and his deputy, Mr. Miwa Nimoto.
During the meeting, Minister Al -Zaouri welcomed the invitation of Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary -General of the United Nations, for international agencies and international organizations to transfer their headquarters to the capital, Aden, in order to protect its employees and ensure that its activities will continue away from the repression of the Houthi terrorist militias. Stressing that the ministry will provide all the necessary facilities to enable these organizations to perform their work easily and safely.
Minister Al -Zaouri also stressed the durability of the partnership between the ministry and UNICEF, expressing his aspiration to enhance joint cooperation and coordination, so that the upcoming plans and programs include projects of development and economic sustainability at various levels.
For his part, Mr. Peter Hawkins appreciated the distinguished relationship between UNICEF and the Ministry, expressing his pride in this partnership and his endeavor to enhance and develop it. He pointed out that the capital, Aden, provides a safe environment that allows UNICEF and the rest of the international agencies and organizations to work freely and implement its plans and programs. He also praised the successes achieved by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Labor and Detection in various sectors.
After that, the social protection plans for the child and social policies for the period 2025-2026 were signed, where the ministry signed the Undersecretary of the Social Welfare Sector, Saleh Mahmoud Hassan, and on the authority of UNICEF, resident actor Peter Hawkins.
