The American envoy to Yemen goes on a Gulf tour to advance peace efforts

The US State Department said on Tuesday that the Special Envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking, will travel to the Gulf this week to advance peace efforts in the country, according to what the Arab World News Agency reported.
The State Department added in a statement Lenderking “will meet with the Yemeni, Saudi, Omani, Emirati and other international partners to discuss the necessary steps to reach a permanent ceasefire and launch a comprehensive political process led by the United States.”
The statement indicated that the American envoy will confirm during his visit that “ The opportunity is ripe for the Yemenis to end the conflict in their country and move forward towards peace, and the outbreak of a broader regional conflict risks undermining peace in Yemen.”
