Baoum urges unified efforts to fight corruption

Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Fadi Baoum, called today, Tuesday, for unifying efforts to fight corruption in the south.
This came during his meeting with representatives of the Southern Independent Anti-Corruption Commission and the Southern Anti-Corruption Organization.
Baoum stressed that corruption is a serious social and economic scourge that has hampered the development process in the south and caused suffering to the southern people.
Baoum said: “It is time to unite efforts to uproot and eliminate corruption from the land of the south.”
He added that transparency and combating corruption are essential requirements for achieving economic stability, and working to reform the financial and administrative system of civil state institutions in the south.
In turn, the attendees welcomed the efforts made by the Southern Transitional Council and its support and sponsorship of the organizations founding the Civil Alliance, stressing their joining of the efforts aimed at combating corruption within the framework of the Civil Alliance.
The attendees stressed that the Civil Alliance for Transparency and Anti-Corruption will be an effective tool in fighting corruption, and achieving justice and accountability for the corrupt.
