The Hadramout University union ascends against the University of Aden and calls for re -consideration by Dr. Al -Jabri

The Faculty members and their assistants at Hadramout University issued a strongly worded statement (No. 3), in which it expressed its rejection and condemnation of what it considered “unfair decisions” issued by the Aden University Council at its last meeting on February 25, 2025 AD, related to Professor Dr. Khaled Muhammad Al -Jabri, a faculty member at the University of Hadramout, after accusing him of academic negligence in discussing a master’s thesis of Abdul Raouf Hassan Zain Al -Saqqaf.
The union emphasized that Dr. Al -Jabri adhered to all academic customs in discussing the scientific thesis of the student Abdul Raouf, stressing that the real responsibility in discovering any manipulation or scientific similarity falls on the shoulder of the scientific supervisor, the academic department, and the evaluation committees at the university, and not on the external discussion.
The union approved in its statement in response to what it described as unjustified prejudice with the reputation of one of its members, several escalatory measures, most notably:
1- Rejection and condemnation of the decisions of the University of Aden Council related to defamation of Dr. Khaled Al-Jabri, and emphasizing full solidarity with him.
2- Claiming the cancellation of the decision immediately, apologizing to Dr. Al-Jabri and compensating him for the damage he caused.
3- An invitation to lead Hadramout University to move quickly and send an official memorandum to the President of Aden University and the Minister of Higher Education to cancel the decision and re-consideration of a faculty member.
4- Husing academic cooperation with the University of Aden, including supervision and discussion of master’s and doctoral theses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing in the academic magazines affiliated with the university, and even scientific arbitration, until the consideration is returned to Dr. Al-Jabri.
5- Aden University Syndicate invites to register an official position against what it considered an academic injustice against their colleague.
6- Aden University claim to clarify the full rationale for the case and publish the report of the Investigation Committee formed by Resolution No. (42) of 2025 AD.
The Hadramout University Syndicate stressed at the end of its statement the need for academic authorities to adhere to the moral and legal responsibility when taking decisions that affect the reputation of the faculty members, stressing that it will defend the rights of its members in all available legal methods.
