The American treasury imposes new sanctions related to the Houthis

The US Treasury said that the United States imposed new sanctions on 7 senior Houthi allied with Iran in Yemen, according to Reuters news agency.
The US Treasury Ministry said, in a statement, that the target individuals with sanctions fled some military materials and weapons systems to the Houthi -controlled areas in Yemen and negotiated to buy weapons from Russia.
She added that it also imposed sanctions on Abdul -Wali Abdo Hassan Al -Jabri and his Al -Jabri General Trading and Investment Company to recruit Yemenis to fight in Ukraine in favor of Russia and raise funds to support the military operations of the Houthis. "The US government is committed to holding the Houthis accountable for weapons and weapons components from suppliers in Russia, China and Iran to threaten the security of the Red Sea."
The US State Department said yesterday (Tuesday) that it applies the Houthi classification "a foreign terrorist organization", after US President Donald Trump called for this step earlier this year.
