confirmed Prof. Khaled Omar Basill, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training for the Educational Affairs Sector and Chairman of the Supreme Classification Committee, that the data collected by the Ministry for the national classification process for universities will provide valuable information for decision makers on the state of higher education in the country.

Basal said at the meeting of the classification committee held today at the Ministry’s General Court that the use of these data will contribute greatly to developing effective educational policies aimed at raising the level of universities and meeting the needs of the labor market, expressing his happiness with the achievements of the committee during the last period.

Basal explained that the classification also measures the performance of universities in the field of scientific research, which encourages them to increase its research production, as well as contributing to the development of knowledge and innovation in the state, and enhancing its competitiveness at the local and regional level.

The Ministry is preparing during the recent period to announce the results of the national classification of universities in its first session with the participation of 9 governmental and private universities.
