186 people were lost after migrant boats were drowned off Yemen and Djibouti

The International Organization for Immigration announced today, Friday, the loss of 186 immigrants after the accident of the coup of four boats carrying them off the coast of Yemen and Djibouti.
The organization said in a preliminary statement on the X platform: “The International Organization for Migration is achieving severely disturbing reports of the loss of 186 people after the coup of 4 boats to immigrants off the coast of Yemen and Djibouti last night.”
The organization confirmed that it will work with the authorities to take urgent measures to save lives.
Tamim Alyan, a spokesman for the organization, said in a statement to the Associated Press that two members of the boat crew who overturned off the coast of Yemen, but 181 migrants and five Yemeni members of the crew are still missing. He continued that for the other boys who turned off the coast of Djibouti, two bodies were recovered for immigrants and the rest of the individuals who were on board were rescued.
The organization indicated in its statement that the path of migration between the Horn of Africa and Yemen killed 558 people in 2024.
It is reported that 60,897 African immigrants entered Yemen during the past year coming from Ethiopia and Somalia through dangerous cruises, according to the reports of the UN organization.
