Distribution of 140 earphones for students with hearing disabilities in Lahj

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for the Social Welfare Sector, Saleh Mahmoud Abu Suhail, launched today in the city of Sabr in Lahj Governorate, the distribution of 140 earphones for students with hearing disabilities, as part of the celebration of the International Day of People with Hearing Disabilities. This activity comes within the second phase of the project to respond to the needs of developing local capabilities to teach illiterate and disabled students, funded by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action.
In his speech during the inauguration ceremony, Abu Suhail conveyed the greetings and congratulations of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al -Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, wishing everyone success and success. He explained that Lahj Governorate includes many cases that suffer from various disabilities, noting that the distribution of earphones will contribute to improving the educational level of students with hearing disabilities, in a way that enhances equal opportunities among all students and supports their integration into society to achieve their aspirations. He also thanked the King Salman Center for his continuous support for this category.
For his part, Saeb Abdel Aziz Shoukry, Director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in the governorate, stressed the importance of these projects in enabling students to continue their education easily, noting that this initiative comes within the efforts made to improve educational services for people with special needs. He also thanked His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Muhammad Al -Zaouri, for his interest in this category, and to the leadership of the local authority headed by Major General Ahmed Abdullah Turki, and to the King Salman Center for his continuous support.
It is noteworthy that this project, which is being implemented through the executing partner, Yamani Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Action, targets 380 children in six governorates: Al -Mahra, Aden, Lahj, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al -Dhali. It aims to improve the quality of education and ensure that children with hearing disabilities receive equal educational opportunities by providing the necessary educational and rehabilitation supplies for them, as part of a comprehensive vision to support the most needy groups in society.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Abdullah Al -Tayyar, representative of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works in Aden and a number of directors of the targeted associations in the governorate, in addition to the beneficiaries of the project.
