The UN envoy reveals the results of his visit to Riyadh

The UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded his visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Wednesday.
The office of the UN envoy said that Grundberg met during his visit to Riyadh with the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, and with members of the Presidential Leadership Council, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Faraj Al-Bahsani, and Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak.
He added that the discussions focused on progressing efforts to reach an agreement that addresses some of the deteriorating living conditions in Yemen, establishes a nationwide ceasefire, and paves the way for an inclusive Yemeni political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
He noted that Grundberg met with the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, and they agreed on the importance of maintaining a conducive environment to continue constructive dialogue in order to reach an inclusive political settlement in Yemen.
In a meeting with the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council, Grundberg expressed his appreciation for the Council’s unity in supporting the resumption of the political process in Yemen.
