International migration: The displacement of more than 56 thousand people since the beginning of 2023

The number of internally displaced Yemenis has exceeded the barrier of 56 thousand people since the beginning of this year 2023, and a slight decrease from the same period last year 2022.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said in a report issued on Wednesday that it monitored a total of 9,343 families, consisting of 56,058 people, who were subjected to displacement at least once, during the period between January 1 and November 4, 2023.
According to the report, the number of internally displaced people since the beginning of this year is six families (36 people) fewer than the same period last year, which witnessed the displacement of 9,349 families consisting of 56,094 people between January 1 and November 12, 2022.
The Displacement Matrix (DTM) of the Organization for Migration explained that it tracked the displacement of 29 families (174 people), between (5 - 11) this November, a double increase over the previous week, which witnessed the displacement of 15 families (90 people).< /p>
She indicated that most of the displacement cases recorded last week were in Ma’rib Governorate, which witnessed the displacement of 13 families. Most of them were internal and from Shabwa, between the governorate’s directorates, while Hodeidah witnessed the displacement of 7 families. Interior and from Taiz Governorate, while Al Dhalea recorded 5 cases of displacement, most of which were internal and from Hodeidah.
