Yemen participates in the second Voice of the Global South summit, hosted by India

The summit aims to enhance cooperation between developing countries and work together, and provide equitable and sustainable development opportunities for the “Global South”, so that every developing country becomes part of the sustainable development model, which takes into account the specific interests and needs of these countries in formulating a global development structure. The summit reviewed the efforts aimed at enhancing the participation of the emerging and developing economies of the countries concerned in various sectors, and contributing to development efforts at the regional and global levels.
The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasim Muhammad Bahibah, began his speech by expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the Government of India to organize this summit at this important time, as it is an opportunity to benefit from visions and viewpoints with the aim of confronting the unprecedented challenges facing our countries in the field of health and the environment. He talked about the health situation in Yemen, which was affected during 9 years of war, and through the efforts of the Ministry and with partners, states and organizations, 50% of the health sector now works, and the Ministry of Health continues its work with partners in improving the health system in Yemen and repairing water left by the war during 9 years.
The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasim Muhammad Buhaibah, stressed the joint work between Yemen, India, and the Voice of the South countries in light of these critical circumstances. This is an extension of the historical relations shared between countries to improve health systems in developing countries, including Yemen, and to confront all challenges, including climate change and environmental degradation.
