The American Ambassador: Our strikes target the capabilities of the Houthis, not the Yemenis

The American ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Wagin, stressed that the United States' air strikes in Yemen only target the military capabilities of the Houthi gang, including weapons, command centers and radar sites, stressing that Yemeni civilians are not a target of the campaign.
In a speech delivered during a reception on the occasion of the American National Day, Wajen pointed out that the Houthi gang has doubled their attacks on international navigation in the Red Sea, and imposed what he described as a "illegal siege" with the aim of turning the sea into a source of income by imposing fees on ships.
He explained that the President of President Trump has set a clear strategy to dry up the sources of power and Houthi financing, including the group's classification as a terrorist organization and the imposition of sanctions aimed at stopping its threat to the security of navigation and Washington's allies in the region.
Wajen added that the United States stands steadily with the Yemeni people in its aspirations towards peace and prosperity, stressing that the restoration of freedom of navigation will pave the way for a comprehensive political solution to the conflict in Yemen.
