The United Nations warns of the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen

The United Nations expressed its deep concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen, where more than 19 million people suffer from an urgent need for basic humanitarian aid. The country faces a serious nutritional and health crisis, as millions suffer from a severe lack of food and fuel, and they face the risk of spreading diseases such as measles that have recorded numerous cases in Marib Governorate, which puts children in particular.
The United Nations explained that the continuous spread of diseases, such as measles, threatens the lives of children, as more than 240 measles and more than ten deaths for children have been recorded this year. Also, sustainable interventions in the field of public health have become necessary urgently to manage and prevent such outbreaks.
Despite the ongoing challenges, the United Nations and its humanitarian partners continue to provide aid wherever possible, as food support has been provided for nearly 6 million people. Support has also been provided to 500 health facilities that provide life -saving health services to more than 225,000 men, women and children.
In light of this humanitarian crisis, the United Nations stressed the necessity of providing sustainable financing to reach the most needy groups throughout Yemen, stressing that the stability of the humanitarian situation requires continuous international cooperation to support the needs of the Yemeni people.
