Documenting 11,000 Houthi violations against children in Sanaa within a year

The Human Rights Office in Sanaa revealed that the Houthi militia committed 11,232 violations against children in Sanaa, within a year, from November 19, 2022 until November 19, 2023.
The violations varied between murder, kidnapping, injury, physical assault, and educational sectarianism. Using schools and summer centers for mobilization, using them in military operations and forced conscription, plundering their relief supplies, looting and storming health and educational institutions, and holding sectarian activities and events to erase the identity of society, especially children, and mobilize them with ideas that call for violence, incitement, killing relatives, and terrorizing society.
The Director of the Human Rights Office in Sanaa, Fahmi Al-Zubairi, said in a press statement that International Children’s Day is an opportunity to stand up to the continuing violations that Yemeni children are exposed to from the terrorist Houthi militia.
He added that violations against children are constantly increasing in International inaction towards the practices and crimes of the Houthis remained, indicating that the impunity of those involved in violations encourages the continuation of violations against children in Yemen and increases their suffering in the health, humanitarian and educational aspects, which exacerbates the tragedies of childhood in Yemen.
The director of human rights called for Human beings, the international community, and international and local organizations stand firmly to protect the children of Yemen from killing and recruitment operations for those under the legal age, and exploiting the Gaza events to display false heroism aimed at mobilizing children to the front lines to achieve military and sectarian gains.
He warned, against Persisting in changing the school curricula and attacking the September Revolution and its heroic symbols who revolted against the tyrants and demolished the throne of the Imamate, praising the societal confrontation and the growing awareness of the danger of militias targeting children and trying to mobilize them with ideas inconsistent with religious and national values aimed at tearing apart the social fabric and promoting the culture of death and hatred.
