The Houthis bombed Ben -Gurion Airport in Israel and a suspension of flights

In an unprecedented escalation, Israeli sources announced on Sunday morning, May 4, 2025, that a ballistic missile fired from Yemen at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, wounding a number of people and suspending air traffic at the airport.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that the missile exceeded four layers of air defenses, including the “Hayt” and “Thad” systems, and fell to the heart of the airport, which led to strong explosions and the outbreak of pillars of thick smoke.
The Israeli ambulance service, "Dawood Al -Hamra Star", stated that she had treated several injuries, including a man in his fifties and a 54 -year -old woman, in addition to another woman who was injured while she was heading to the shelters.
The Israeli army confirmed the failure of attempts to intercept the missile, noting that the incident is under investigation.
For its part, the Houthi group in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack, stressing that the missile hit its goal accurately, and that the operation comes within the framework of its support for the Palestinian people.
The event raised widespread concern in the Israeli circles, where Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz vowed a strong response, while politician Beni Gantz called for accounting Iran, considering that it is responsible for the attack.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that the Houthi group has targeted Ben Gurion Airport, but it is the first time that a ballistic missile has succeeded in penetrating the air defenses and reaching its goal inside Israel.
