International Immigration: 49 families displaced within a week

The International Immigration Organization confirmed the displacement of 49 Yemeni families within one week.
According to a report on the displacement follow -up (DTM) of May 6, 2025, 49 families were displaced, equivalent to 294 people, from April 27 to May 3, compared to 119 families (714 people) during the previous week, showing a sharp decrease of 59% in the internal displacement movement in Yemen.
The report pointed out that the displacement focused in three main governorates, where the Ma'rib Governorate received the largest number of displaced people with 22 families coming from Sana'a and Hodeidah, followed by Taiz with 16 families, while Hodeidah witnessed an internal displacement of 11 families.
According to the data, the security reasons are still the main driver of displacement, as it constituted 79% of cases, while the deterioration of economic conditions paid 21% of families to leave their original areas.
The report revealed that 40% of the displaced families are in urgent need of financial aid, while 29% of them need shelter, 21% to food aid, while 6% expressed their need for support in livelihoods, and 4% to non -food items.
The International Organization of Immigration also monitored the return of three displaced families to its original areas in Taiz Governorate, in addition to documenting 43 new displaced families in the governorates of Marib, Al -Hodeidah and Taiz, not recorded in previous reports.
Thus, the total number of internal displacement cases in Yemen increases from the beginning of 2025 to 3 May to 942 families, equivalent to 5,652 people, according to the organization's statistics.
