Officials in Aden confront the UNHCR with urgent demands

The advisor to the governor of the capital, Aden, for humanitarian affairs, Muhammad Abdul Karim Jabbari, the general directors of the Dar Saad and Aboud districts, Naji Hussein, Khor Maksar Awas al-Zuhri, and Sira Dr. Mahmoud bin Jaradi, today, Thursday, called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to increase the number and rates of rehabilitation of damaged homes. The war is renovating them, the return of the displaced to their original areas of residence, and the rehabilitation of government buildings used by the displaced.
This came during an extraordinary meeting held at the headquarters of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Aden, in the presence of the Acting Director of the UNHCR Sub-Office in Aden, Mr. Eric, the Head of the Shelter and Accommodation Cluster, Ms. Martha Kodenker, and the field official at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The government delegation expressed its appreciation for the humanitarian efforts undertaken by UNHCR in Yemen, and also urged it to increase its support for durable solutions projects for the displaced, including the rehabilitation of war-damaged homes and the return of the displaced to their areas of origin.
