The release of 37 Yemeni fishermen from Eritrea prisons

Eritrean authorities launched, on Friday, the release of 37 Yemeni fishermen from Al -Hodeidah Governorate, after weeks spent detainees in circumstances described as harsh.
Media sources have led that the fishermen arrived in Marsa Al -Khokha, south of Al -Hodeidah Governorate, after a period of detention between two and four weeks.
The sources indicated that the Yemeni fishermen were subjected to ill -treatment during their detention by the Eritrean authorities.
None of the confiscated fishing boats or their tools and their accessories for the hunting that were seized during their detention.
This release of the Yemeni fishermen comes after a frequent series of violations practiced by the Eritrean authorities against them in the waters of the Red Sea, the last of which was a few days ago, when the Eritrean patrol launched a Yemeni fishing boat that was carrying 31 fishermen, while they were inside the Yemeni territorial waters.
