The American aircraft carrier "Harry S Truman" leaves the Red Sea

The American aircraft carrier, Harry S Truman (CVN-75), left the Red Sea heading to the United States, after a task that spanned nearly eight months and included training with NATO (NATO) and combat operations against the Houthi militia in Yemen as part of the "rough knight" operation.
The National Interest magazine stated that the Nemitz nuclear aircraft carrier participated during its spread in the "Neptune Strike" maneuvers in the Mediterranean, and also worked within the area of the US Sixth Fleet, before its mission was extended twice by Defense Minister Beit Higsith.
The end of the mission coincides with the approval of the Iranian -backed Houthis to stop their attacks on commercial ships and the US marine pieces in the Red Sea early this month.
Harry S Truman was accompanied during its mission of several warships, among them the destroyer, USS Jason Doneham and the "US STAGPERGBRG", in addition to the destroyer "USS Steout", within the group of striking aircraft carriers operating in the Red Sea since last November.
Despite the return of the carrier and its ships accompanying its crews safely, the task was not without losses, as three F/A-18s "Super Horn" lost during the operations. One of the aircraft was broken by a friendly fire from the "Getsburg" cruiser, while the second fell while it was pulled inside the barn as a result of an emergency maneuver, while the third was crashed after a failed landing, during which the pilot and the armament officer were forced to jump with umbrellas.
The task also witnessed a collision with a aircraft carrier last February as it passed near Port Said, when it collided with a shipping ship, which required her to stop for urgent reforms in Greece.
It is scheduled that Harry S Truman will return to the Norfolk Naval Base under a new command, after Captain David Snowden is exempted from his position and the appointment of Captain Christopher “Chaudah” to succeed him. Lahil has previously led the Dwit de. Eisenhower aircraft carrier during its lengthy combat mission in the Middle East, which is the most violent of the American Navy since World War II.
It is noteworthy that the aircraft carrier Karl Vinson arrived in the region in April, to join a series of aircraft carriers published by the United States in the Middle East since the fall of 2023, in light of the continuous escalation in the Red Sea and the Bab al -Mandab strait.
