Al -Mukalla Port of the Arab Sea Ports Corporation received during the months of May and June, dozens of wooden ships coming from the ports of Boussabo and Berbera in the Republic of Somalia, with thousands of sheep heads on board, in the context of early preparations to meet the needs of local markets from sacrifices with the approaching Eid Al -Adha.

The port continues to provide all the necessary facilities to ensure the smoothness of the messages and discharge operations without delay, by providing the support required to accelerate the landing of livestock and direct them directly to the veterinary quarry.

imported livestock is subject to preliminary veterinary checks on the ships before allowing them to be removed, then they are transferred to the veterinary Boach quarry to perform accurate tests and veterinary stone for several days, according to the approved standards. The veterinary quarry is a licensed regional center with international specifications, and it has a wide recognition by the importing countries.

The sheep imported from Somalia are characterized by their appropriate prices, which makes it an option available for a wide segment of citizens compared to the high prices of local sheep, and these shipments represent an important resource to support humanitarian initiatives, as charitable institutions depend on them to implement sacrificial meat distribution projects on needy families in Hadramout Governorate and the neighboring areas.
