The Lebanese security services arrested a Yemeni citizen in the capital, Beirut, on the suspicion of communicating with the Israeli intelligence agency "Mossad" and providing him with information related to the activity of the Houthi group in Yemen and Lebanon.
The newspaper, Al -Sharq Al -Awsat, quoted a Lebanese judicial source that the Yemeni citizen was arrested last week, after he raised suspicions with the Embassy Security Agency, when he tried to enter the headquarters of the Yemeni embassy in Beirut without a prior appointment, and asked to meet the Yemeni ambassador to obtain a job that enables him to stay in Lebanon permanently.
According to the source, the embassy guards of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces prevented him from entering because his name was not received in the visitor record, but he initiated a clash with them verbally and directed them insults and insults, which led them to arrest him and confiscate his mobile phone, to show later that he was in constant contact with suspicious Israeli numbers.
The judicial source pointed out that the arrested person admitted during his interaction with his dealings with the Mossad, and that he provided them with information about the Houthi group in Yemen, taking advantage of being a resident of Sanaa, and he also admitted that Israeli intelligence instructed him to collect information about the presence of possible Houthi leaders in Lebanon after moving to Beirut about two months ago.
The source pointed out that the timing of his contacts coincided with the Israeli and American strikes that targeted the Houthis, and confirmed that he expressed his satisfaction with these strikes, considering the Houthis "the cause of Yemen's calamity and the killing of thousands of innocents" since their coup against the state. He also pointed out that the detainee was working individually, in a style that Israel was relying on to recruit agents in a non -retainable manner. He issued an arrest warrant for him based on the prosecution materials.
