The European Union affirmed its support for efforts to bring peace and achieve a political settlement that guarantees the stability and security of Yemen and the region.
This came during the reception in Aden by Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik, the head of the European Union delegation and the ambassadors of a number of EU countries accredited to Yemen.
The ambassadors affirmed their full support for the government and its efforts to implement reforms and work to stabilize economic and service conditions.
For its part, the government renewed its support for the resumption of the political process in accordance with the basic terms of reference, and the continuation of its efforts to implement reforms and fight corruption.
The government warned of the dangers of dragging the region into a broader conflict, including the Houthi militia’s threat to freedom of international navigation, and its repercussions on the Yemeni economy and regional and international security.
