The joint military campaign in Abyan announces control over the “Al-Hanaka” area adjacent to Shabwa

The joint military campaign in Abyan announced today, Tuesday, control of the “Al-Hanaka” area adjacent to Shabwa Governorate, where terrorist elements were holed up after fleeing the Omran Mountains and Wadi Al-Jinn in Modiya.
A military source in the joint campaign said that the joint forces were able to control the “Al-Hanaka” area after violent battles with terrorist elements, which resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of them.
The source added that the joint forces found weapons, a large amount of ammunition, and explosive materials in the area.
The control of the “Al-Hanaka” area comes within a series of military operations carried out by the joint campaign in Abyan, with the aim of eliminating terrorist elements in the governorate.
The joint forces consisting of Abyan Security, the Security Belt, and the Southern Armed Forces Brigades were able during the past months and during Operation East Arrows to control large areas and valleys that terrorist elements had used as shelter and fortification due to their natural ruggedness.
