The Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for the Civil Services Sector, Major General Abdul Majid Al-Amiri, stressed the Ministry of the Interior’s keenness to strengthen the field of civil status with the latest and finest technological and electronic systems with the aim of providing optimal services to citizens and enabling them to obtain modern identity documents, indicating that the application will begin. The civil status system for issuing the smart personal card in Aden, provided that its application will be approved in the future in other governorates.
Al-Amiri explained that the system was designed with high professionalism and in accordance with the most modern technical specifications, security and comprehensive information, due to the accurate data and information it contains within the procedures and steps of issuing the modern personal card... reviewing the benefits of the smart personal card in aspects of security and updating information, which include The card is linked to applications that allow verifying a person’s identity via fingerprints and face with governmental and non-governmental agencies, proving identity, passing through ports with electronic systems, and conducting various financial transactions.
He also touched on the general benefits of the smart personal card, which include adopting a single system to deal with the issuance of cards, collecting data on all citizens who hold the card and facilitating statistical tasks, as well as adopting it in electoral processes because it enjoys high reliability, contributing to reducing manipulation, forgery and corruption, and reducing Crime rates and facilitating tracking of criminals and people with previous convictions.
