The training course on disasters and first aid during emergencies was concluded on Thursday, November 30, 2023, in the city of Sayun, for community committees and civil defense in Sayun District, as part of the project to enhance community resilience in the face of disasters, in the field of enhanced assessment of vulnerabilities and capabilities (EVCA), which was organized by the association with the support of From the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
20 participants representing civil defense and the local community (local authority, health, agriculture, planning, education, social affairs, water, environment, public works), over a period of 6 days, received information, skills, and theoretical and applied experience in the field of {disaster management And the various scenarios were developed in the event of response, search and rescue, health during disasters, water and sanitation, food and nutrition, emergency needs assessment, materials and shelter), by the course trainers, the two brothers from the main center of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, the field officer for disaster management, Mr. Elias Mana Maidama. And the preparedness and preparedness operations officer, Mr. Ayman Ibrahim bin Yahya.
At the conclusion of the session, a member of the Board of Directors at the main center for health affairs of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society and head of the association’s branch in Hadramaut, Dr. Murtada Ibrahim bin Yahya, praised the level of discipline in attendance and discussion during the course days, the importance of this course and the amount of information in it, with the aim of ensuring the strengthening of community capacity.
