Dialysis patients in Lahj Governorate are at risk of death due to the inaction of the local health office

The centers of the capital Aden are suffering from an increase in the number of dialysis patients due to a large demand of patients who must travel from different governorates and regions to the capital.
Despite the understanding and willingness of the Economic Foundation in Aden to support and establish the kidney center in Lahj, the health office in the governorate ignored these needs by the people of the governorate and did not provide appropriate support to the center.
In a phone call to Brigadier General Anwar Al-Omari, Director of the Foundation, in order to support him with dialysis machines, he stated that he had sat down with the director of the health office in Lahj and committed to supporting him with dialysis machines. What is only required of the governorate’s health office is to equip a desalination plant for the dialysis center, and we are ready to supply the governorate with the devices.
What are the local authority and the health office in Lahj waiting for? Is it enough that the patients’ groaning is enough? This means that the patients are forced to travel to Aden and face centers crowded with patients, which puts their lives at risk.
Al-Omari pointed out that the kidney center in Lahj has the ability to reduce crowding and meet the needs of patients coming from the governorates of Yafa’, Al-Dhale’, Al-Habilin, and Al-Sabiha. The attention of the Lahj Health Office to this problem is essential and must be addressed immediately before the situation worsens and the scale of the tragedy increases.
