Meteorology warns of a severe cold wave that will hit 14 Yemeni governorates

The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned of extremely cold weather that will hit 14 Yemeni governorates.
The center said in its weather bulletin that it expects cold to very cold weather during the night and early morning in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar and Al Bayda, while the weather may be cold in the highlands of the governorates of Ibb, Taiz and northern Al Dhalea, and relatively cold in the Hadhramaut Plateau. And the highlands of Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj, Al-Jawf and western Ma’rib governorates.
Active to strong winds are likely to blow at a speed of between 15-25 knots, with gusts of up to 35 knots, on the Socotra Archipelago, the western and eastern coasts, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden, according to the weather forecast.
He explained that the lowest temperatures recorded at some weather monitoring stations this morning were five degrees in Dhamar and Amran, 5.3 in Sanaa, 8.2 in Ibb, 9.2 in Al-Sada, and 9.6 in Al-Mahwit.
The center called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the night and early morning, to take the necessary precautions to prevent cold and extreme weather.
