Al-Mahra...destroying more than 16 tons of expired food supplies

The Office of Industry and Trade in Al-Mahra Governorate destroyed, on Monday morning, more than 16 tons of expired food and soft drinks that were seized in the markets of the city of Al-Ghaydah, in cooperation with the Al-Ghaydah Prosecution.
The Director General of the Office of Industry and Trade in Al-Mahra, Mr. Abdullah Khodem, said that these quantities were seized from all markets in Al-Ghaydah District, stressing that field campaigns are continuing to inspect expired goods in the markets.
For his part, Director of Consumer Protection at the Bureau of Industry and Trade, Shukri al-Assad, promised deterrent penalties for those who sell expired foodstuffs and infant formula.
Al-Assad thanked the local authority in the governorate, represented by Mr. Muhammad Ali Yasser, Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, for his support in the campaigns of the field teams and his continuous guidance in this regard, as he put it.
