Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, President of the National Assembly, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, chaired, today, Tuesday, a meeting of the Committee of the President’s Award, Commander Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi for Scientific Research, in its first session 2023.

Al-Kathiri welcomed, at the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi, member of the Presidency of the Council, the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, Engineer Nizar Haitham, Chairman of the Youth Auxiliary Authority, Brigadier General Ahmed Hassan, Head of the Security Department of the Council, the Rapporteur of the National Assembly, Mr. Nasr Harhra, and Professor Al-Karihi Kanaan, Head of the Youth and Sports Department of the General Secretariat of the Award Committee, stressing that President Commander Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi gives special attention to the award, as it is concerned with raising the educational, creativity and innovation capabilities of students, and contributes to the development of various fields of science at the national level.

Al-Kathiri praised the efforts and progress of the award committee’s organized and coordinated work in all aspects at all its stages, and the international standards it set for advanced scientific research and comparison therein, pointing out that the Transitional Council seeks to raise the level of the award and its scientific research to be a major national scientific event at the level of the southern nation. As well as helping the committee overcome all the difficulties and obstacles that may hinder its work in the next stage.

The acting Chairman of the Council then heard from the Chairman of the Committee, Eng. Aseel Al-Jubaei, and members of the Committee, an explanation of the efforts made by the Committee since the announcement of the establishment of the award, and its stages leading to the final stage, which will conclude with a public discussion of the research that obtained the highest scores in the evaluation process.

The members of the jury, including doctors, deans of colleges, heads of scientific departments and members of university teaching staff, indicated that the award will bring about a qualitative shift in all scientific fields, and will bring an intellectual and cognitive return at a high level of success in all public and private universities, extending their thanks. The Transitional Council, headed by Commander Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Chairman of the Council, to advance education, develop areas of scientific research, and encourage students to move forward to keep pace with rapid scientific and technological development.
