Electricity discusses with the Korean ambassador the acceleration of the project to establish a gas facility to feed Aden’s electricity

The Minister of Electricity and Energy, Eng. Mani bin Yameen, discussed today, with the Korean Ambassador to Yemen, Do Bong Ki, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of energy.
The Minister of Electricity indicated the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and the Korean Daewoo Company to establish a gas facility to supply power stations in the city of Aden with gas, which will contribute to alleviating the burden of power generation costs and opening the way for the establishment of gas-powered electricity generation plants. Looking forward to exchanging visits and activating Contact points to work on accelerating the completion of this project because of its major strategic impact on electricity in Yemen.
Minister Ben Yammine pointed out that the project is one of the 17 projects announced by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen... explaining that the stages of the project cover all of the country’s need for electrical energy by completing the network connection of all governorates with central generating stations.
p>For his part, the Korean ambassador praised the efforts made by the government and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy to improve the electricity sector... stressing that the embassy will work on continuous communication to overcome difficulties for the success of the project, which will be the nucleus for subsequent projects that contribute to the reconstruction of Yemen.
