Destruction of damaged and smuggled medicines at the capital, Aden International Airport

Customs at the Capital Aden International Airport destroyed large quantities of damaged and expired medicines that arrived in the country illegally, after completing the legal detention period specified under the Customs Law, and they were arrested with some passengers arriving at the airport during previous periods. The Director General of Customs at Aden International Airport, Mr. Khaled Awad Bakir, indicated that Aden Airport Customs, in coordination with the Director General of Aden Airport, the Director of Airport Security, and the Supreme Authority for Medicines, had destroyed large quantities of expired, damaged, and smuggled medicines after the legal detention period had passed at airport customs. It was stopped along with some travelers with official reports, and some commercial therapeutic shipments were stopped and destroyed because they were not approved by the competent authority (the Supreme Authority for Medicines).
Khaled noted that they are working continuously at Aden International Airport Customs, making double efforts and dealing strictly with anyone who tries to bring medicines into the country illegally in order to preserve the health and safety of citizens. The medicines are kept in customs warehouses and after the specified period ends, they are destroyed. In coordination with security, the prosecution, and the general administration of the airport.
He emphasized that: “Aden International Airport Customs has achieved great security achievements, through which they prevented the smuggling of many things from leaving the country, including jewelry, money, etc., in addition to preventing the entry of some illicit substances, immoral stimulants, and other prohibited substances.”< /p>
