UN envoy: There is progress in peace mediation efforts in Yemen

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, indicated that there is progress in mediation efforts for peace in the country.
The UN envoy stated in a statement published on the X platform, that he "met with Yemeni President Rashad Al-Alimi, to discuss the next steps towards reaching an agreement on measures to improve living conditions in Yemen."
He stated that he discussed with Alimi “a sustainable ceasefire that includes the entire country, and the resumption of an inclusive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.”
Grundberg added that he also met with the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, to discuss “the progress of peace mediation efforts in Yemen, and the importance of continuing concerted regional support.”
