Al-Zubaidi discusses with the American envoy the dangers of Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab

Aidroos Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Thursday, the American envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking.
The meeting discussed the dangers of the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab and the piracy behavior practiced by the Iranian-backed militia. Against commercial ships passing through the international shipping line, and in this regard, President Al-Zubaidi renewed the Southern Transitional Council’s condemnation of those terrorist behaviors that threaten the security and safety of international shipping lines, and endanger security and peace in the region, noting that these hostile practices represent a direct threat to food security in our country, It doubled the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis that its senseless war produced on our people.
The meeting also discussed mechanisms for confronting the Houthi escalation, and ways to expand cooperation and coordination with brotherly and friendly countries to enhance maritime security and protect shipping lines in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab. In a separate context, the two sides reviewed developments related to the political process aimed at ending the war and bringing peace to our country, as President Al-Zubaidi renewed support for the Transitional Council.
In turn, the American envoy expressed his thanks and appreciation for the positive positions of President Al-Zubaidi rejecting the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, and his position in support of the efforts led by brothers and friends to bring peace to our country, stressing the importance of cooperation and joint coordination to enhance maritime security and protect the international shipping line at sea.
