The Minister of Works and the Road Fund discuss the plan to maintain the international road from Hadhramaut to Al-Mahra

Based on the directives of the political leadership represented by Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and His Excellency the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik, regarding the maintenance and rehabilitation of the international road damaged by hurricanes linking the governorates of Hadramaut and Al-Mahra.. The Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Muhammad Al-Huraizi, held his meeting this morning. Today with the brother, Engineer Moeen Muhammad Al-Mas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the #Roads and Bridges Maintenance Fund, the main center - the capital, Aden, with the brother, General Director of the Fund’s International Projects Implementation Unit, Engineer Mahboob Hamid, to discuss the damage that befell the international road between Hadhramaut Governorate and Al-Mahra Governorate..
During the meeting, the development of an intervention plan was discussed to maintain and rehabilitate the section of the road damaged by the hurricanes, with a length of 485 km, passing through the areas of (Al-Deis - Qusayr - Al-Deira Al-Sharqiya - Sayhut - Al-Ghaydah - Hawf).
The meeting discussed the damage to the road and the importance of its maintenance and rehabilitation after the multiple hurricanes that resulted in severe damage to multiple sections of the road.
During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister urgently directed a team from the Fund’s International Projects Implementation Unit to go to the field to survey the damage, submit an integrated study of the maintenance and rehabilitation work of the aforementioned road, and prepare the necessary documents to target financing the project through international donors, led by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
For his part, the Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, Engineer Moeen Al-Mas, stressed to the officials of the Project Implementation Unit the necessity of quickly preparing the technical team and preparing a work plan to begin preparing the study and completing the preparation of its documents until the middle of next January 2024.
