At the ceremony, which began with the Holy Qur’an, and under the slogan “What is your role to protect women and provide for their needs?” Professor Fayza Abdel Majeed Mohammed Saleh, Acting Undersecretary for the Development Sector, delivered a speech on this occasion, at the beginning of which she conveyed the greetings and congratulations of His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri.
In her speech, Professor Fayza stressed that ending violence against women is a shared responsibility through feminist activism and advocacy, in addition to coordinated work across the justice, health, and other sectors, as well as strong, independent feminist movements capable of advancing the process of change. At the end of her speech, she called for the provision of safe, healthy and organized digital spaces free of violence and to move forward to end violence against women and girls everywhere and unite ranks for a world free of violence.
Mr. John Paul, Director of the United Nations Population Fund office in the capital, Aden, also gave a speech in which he thanked His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Zaouri, for his support of women and his empowerment of them as an essential partner in development and all fields.
