Facilitating escape in exchange for fighting...the Houthi and prisoners deal

Yemeni sources revealed that the Houthi group facilitated the escape of a new group of prisoners from one of the prisons under the control of the militia in Dhamar to join its ranks.
The sources reported that among the ten escaped prisoners were accused of criminal and terrorist crimes, confirming that Houthi leaders covered up the matter by investigating security leaders after accusing them of facilitating the escape of accused persons, and releasing some of them and other leaders who were still in detention.
According to the sources, the Houthi group released hundreds of defendants in its prisons, some of them under the umbrella of a “general amnesty,” and others by facilitating their escape, in exchange for their pledge to fight in its ranks, including terrorist elements.
Human rights sources in Sanaa revealed bargaining between the Houthi group with prisoners in exchange for their release and freedom, and said that Houthi committees visit prisons and detention centers to hold “jihadist” lectures that promote the militia’s sectarian and extremist ideas.
She pointed out that among the requirements presented to prisoners, especially detainees, during security campaigns and checkpoints affiliated with the group in several governorates under their control, are loyalty, obedience, participation in the fighting fronts for a period of time, and support and support of any campaigns being implemented in their areas of residence.
